Seminar on Covid-19 Guidelines for Businesses Will be held Friday
Will feature discussion on remote and in-person personnel as well as vaccinations
SAN JUAN – The United Retailers Association (CUD by its Spanish initials), and the Department of Labor and Human Resources will be holding a seminar Friday for small and medium-sized businesses on the new labor guidelines that should be implemented in the workplace amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
CUD President Jesús E. Vázquez Rivera said there are still questions regarding the protocols for in-person personnel, vaccinations and how working remotely has gained a very important place in the workplace.
“The workshop will help SMEs to have all the necessary tools to combat the pandemic, protecting their employees and their customers,” Vázquez said in the published announcement.
The virtual seminar, featuring Labor Secretary Carlos Rivera Santiago, will be held 10 a.m. Among the lecturers are attorney Jorge Pizarro, who will address the issue of Challenges and Opportunities for Employers in Times of Pandemic, and María del Carmen Rodríguez, who will speak about the Importance of the Covid-19 Exposure Control Plan, as representative of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Administration (PR OSHA). Finally, Dr. Jo Arleen Torres, from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), will discuss the Covid-19 Vaccination Protocol.
