Senate Cancels Constitutional Assembly Hearings on Status ‘Indefinitely’

SAN JUAN – The Senate Joint Commission’s public hearings on a Constitutional Assembly on Puerto Rico’s status have been cancelled, Sen. Ángel Rosa said Monday.

“At the request of Senate President Eduardo Bhatia, the public hearings of the Joint Commission on Status have been indefinitely canceled,” Rosa said in a written statement.

The hearings were scheduled for this week to consider pending bills on the Constitutional Status Assembly.

“The technical staff of the commission will notify the deponents about said cancellation,” the legislator stated.
