Senate President Gives Update on Cybersecurity Incident
Assures Legislative Body’s Information Is Safe
The president of the Puerto Rico Senate, José Luis Dalmau, gave an update on the operations of the legislative body following a recent cybersecurity breach and assured that the upper chamber’s information has not been in danger.
“On January 26, we informed the people that the operations of the Senate of Puerto Rico suffered a cybersecurity incident. The incident affected the information systems of the legislative body. The response protocol for a cybersecurity incident requires isolating the system to protect its integrity as much as possible. For this reason, all services that require the use of computers were affected, including the Senate website and the switchboard, among other areas,” Dalmau recalled.
