SuperMax Online expands delivery service in Puerto Rico

SAN JUAN – Puerto Rican supermarket chain SuperMax has announced that its online order service has been expanded to include not only the San Juan, Caguas and Guaynabo metropolitan area, but also Caguas and surrounding areas.

The service provides customers access to the company’s selection of foods and household goods for either pickup or delivery. The more than 10,000 products available for online order have the same in-store prices.

The service provides various options to receive an order. In-store pickup is facilitated with designated parking spaces at the supermarket, where personnel take the order to the customer’s vehicle. Door-to-door delivery is supplemented with the choice to receive the placed order the same day or up to five days later.

The online service was launched in February 2018, and initially covered Guaynabo and certain surrounding areas. Since then, the service has been ramped up to allow ordering 24 hours a day, seven days a week in Isla Verde, Santurce, Condado, Hato Rey, Miramar, Viejo San Juan, Río Piedras, Trujillo Alto and now Caguas and surrounding areas areas, with delivery times from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“The establishment of SuperMax Online in the Caguas area reflects our continuing commitment to innovate to provide the best service and convenience to the Puerto Rican consumer,” SuperMax President José Revuelta said in a published announcement.

Use of the service requires a $50 minimum purchase. The pickup service charge for purchases of $50 or more is $4. For deliveries, the service charge for purchases of $50 to $100 is $10; for purchases of $100.01 to $250, it is $7; and for those greater than $250.01, it is $5.

SuperMax said the expansion of its service in Caguas will result in about 25 new jobs.
