The Impact of Climate Change in Puerto Rico and on Humanity
Climate change on Earth affects humanity in all of the confines of the Planet. Puerto Rico, the Caribbean and the Americas are no exception to this, although as in other countries, regions, the impact is not uniform. Strategies to mitigate its impact require local, regional and international initiatives.
As announced by Achim Steiner, administrator of the United Nations Development Program, climate change is causing increasingly severe and frequent storms, floods and droughts. Our environment, water resources and biodiversity are suffering the aggressions of pollution, the warming of the oceans, the rise in sea level and the constant increase in temperatures.
