Three companies leave Committee of Unsecured Creditors

By on September 19, 2018

SAN JUAN – Puerto Rico Hospital Supply, Total Petroleum Puerto Rico Corp., and Peerless Oil & Chemicals, have resigned from the Committee of Unsecured Creditors.

A document submitted to the court by U.S. Trustee Daniel McDermott does not state the reasons the three entities left the committee. McDermott said he added another member to the committee: Tradewinds Energy Barceloneta LLC.

The resignations come a day after Judge Laura Taylor Swain rejected committee attempts to impose a stay on the restructuring of the Government Development Bank. Still pending is a hearing on an adversary complaint filed earlier this month.

The members of the Committee are now:
The American Federation of Teachers, Doral Financial Corp., Genesis Security, Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Unitech Engineering, Baxter Sales & Distribution Puerto Rico Corp., and Tradewinds Energy Barceloneta.
