Tourism Co. Intervenes with Unauthorized Travel Agents

SAN JUAN – The Puerto Rico Tourism Co. (PRTC) has issued orders to show cause against people who were functioning as travel agents without its authorization.

The first cease and desist order was issued April 13 against Héctor López and Carmen L. Rodríguez, doing business as Viajes & Excursiones in Cayey. Another order was issued against Nelson Iván Román, who offers travel services from the town of Isabela.

“It is our duty to enforce laws and regulations. I recommend being alert and require people to have Tourism Co.’s license to operate,” PRTC Director Ingrid I. Rivera Rocafort said in a statement.
