Triple-S Advantage celebrates Centers for Medicare and Medicaid rating
SAN JUAN – Health maintenance organization (HMO) Triple-S Advantage has been given a 4.5-star rating, out of 5 stars, by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). In addition, it received the highest 5-star rating on the prescription drug (Part D) coverage of the same HMO contract.
CMS collects data annually to rate plans and its Star Rating System reflects members’ satisfaction with their plan and takes into account measures such as preventive tests, management of chronic conditions, hospital readmissions and medication adherence.
The achievement, the insurer said, is a result of its strategies and close collaboration with physicians and business partners to offer quality services to its more than 110,000 Medicare Advantage members.
The rating “is evidence of Triple-S’s commitment to the well-being of all Puerto Ricans who entrust us with their health care. That’s why we proudly say that Triple-S Advantage is a real plan,” said Madeline Hernández-Urquiza, president of Triple-S Advantage and Triple-S Salud.
The executive added that Triple-S continues to innovate both in its models of care as well as in technological solutions to allow providers quick access to members’ health information to make better decisions about a patient’s needs.
Triple-S Advantage also has a contract with the Puerto Rico Government Health Plan. It is an independent Licensee of BlueCross BlueShield Association and is part of the Triple-S Group.
