TV anywhere app Liberty Go launched

SAN JUAN – Liberty Puerto Rico, which provides video and digital telephony services over its broadband cable systems to residential and business customers on the island announced Wednesday the launch of its “Liberty Go” application for its TV customers.

Initially, the app makes 33 TV channels, which can be watched on a computer browser or mobile device, including local TV stations, depending on the customer’s video package subscription. The live-streamed local-channel feature is an island first.

Among the app’s other features are high-definition content, parental controls, picture-in-picture on the Android operating system) and language selection. It also includes a customizable TV guide.

Users can also schedule reminders of their favorite shows, get trending content recommendations, and share the title of the show they are watching.

“This is a product that we know our customers will enjoy and use constantly, because it fits into their busy schedules,” said Waldo Hooker, vice president of Customer Experience at Liberty Puerto Rico.                                                                                                

Liberty Go’s channel selection currently includes local channels such as WAPA, Telemundo Puerto Rico, Univision Puerto Rico, WAPA Deportes and TeleIsla, in addition to U.S. networks such as NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, USA Network, Syfy, E!, Bravo, Food Network, HGTV, Discovery, TLC, Hallmark Channel, Travel, Animal Planet, ID Discovery, Golf and NBCSN. The app’s Spanish-language channels on the app include TV Española, A3 Cine, A3 Series, Antena 3, and Univision TL Novela.

Liberty said it will continue to add more channels to the app, as well as video-on-demand options.
