Universal inaugurates customer service center in Bayamón
SAN JUAN – Universal Group Inc., which provides insurance and financial services, has opened a new customer service center on PR-167, across from Río Hondo Shopping Center’s entrance.
Universal offers property, casualty and life insurance; commercial insurance, such as auto, property, specialty lines, liability, group life and bonds; and credit life insurance.
The company also has customer service centers in Caguas; Canóvanas; Hatillo; Ponce; Mayagüez; Metro Office Park in Guaynabo; and Hato Rey, and now in the same place as its Puerto Rico headquarters in Bayamón.
This new center’s hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“It is a real privilege for all the companies that form part of Universal Group to open the doors of this modern facility in an extremely convenient and accessible location for clients and policyholders who visit us,” Universal Insurance Co. President Josely Vega Maldonado said, adding that “this is the time to demonstrate that we are part of a solid and reliable industry and Universal is heading toward the future with a firm and decisive pace.”
Bayamón Vice Mayor Rurico Pintado; Insurance Commissioner Javier Rivera Ríos; and the executive director of the Puerto Rico Insurance Companies Association (Acodese by its Spanish acronym), Iraelia Pernas, participated in the inauguration.
Reinsurance broker Willis Re‘s Global CEO, James Kent, as well as the firm’s CEO for Latin America and the Caribbean, Sergio Montoya, and senior vice president, Harry Bishop, were also on hand as special guests.
Universal, which was founded in 1983, is a subsidiary of Universal Insurance Holdings Inc. It also operates in 17 states.
